謝師週 3-15-2010

首先，我要感謝我的兩個兒子在此地讀書，他們的成長經驗和我小時候大大的不同，我很難改變他的軌道，只能向他學習：如何在不同的國度下教育小孩。

台灣的教師節只有放假一天，在我小時候，我們還會尊師重道，教師節去老師家拜訪，給老師添點小麻煩。

小學畢業的蚊子老師，給我們的畢業贈言就是：「你們畢業後，若要回學校看我，或是在街上遇到我，請直接告訴我你是哪一年畢業的學生，叫什麼名字，千萬不要說：『老師，給你猜猜看，我是誰？』我教三十年學生，越老越記不起來了，請大家饒了我。」事過三十年，我還記得老師的教誨。

而美國學校沒有教師節，直接就是「謝師週」，但是活動很好玩。

星期一：送一支花給老師，班媽集結成一大束送給老師，每一朵花裡都有學生的小心意。

星期二：讓老師美夢成真！每個學生可以從老師的網站看到老師的許願表是什麼？買老師想要學生添購的教室用品，雖然是讓老師開心，事實上還是用在學生身上。

星期三：有慶功宴慶祝得獎的模範老師。

這一天還是聖派翠克日，每個學生要記得穿綠衣服，不然會被人家捏一下。

星期四：每個學生都要親手做一張卡片送給老師，以表達感激之情。在美國的小孩都很會寫卡片，也很會用卡片表達心中的感激和感謝，簡單實用又誠意十足。

星期五：每個學生帶五元交給班媽，班媽統籌款項，買一張老師喜歡的商店禮物卡，讓老師開心一下。

一整個星期裡，學生表達的事都很微小，聚集起來變成很大的誠意和愛心。

利用這樣的機會，讓孩子學習感激老師一年的辛勞，真的是一件有意義的事！

Teacher Appreciation Week
*** These activities are strictly optional! This is just a small way of giving back to our wonderful teachers for all that they do for our children.

**Monday 3/15: "Make Your Teacher Feel Like a Star"- Student may bring in a flower from the store or garden to make a bouquet from the class.(Room parents will help put it together)

**Tuesday 3/16: "Make a Wish Come True"- Students have the opportunity to bring in school supplies from their teacher's wish list. (Room Parents will notify you via email with specific classroom wishes)

**Wednesday 3/17: "Teacher Academy Awards Luncheon" - A special luncheon will take place after school for the teacher's only. Students still need to bring a lunch today.

**Thursday 3/18: "Thanks for Making a Star Out of Us!" Students are asked to bring in a handmade card from home for their teacher.

**Friday 3/19: "And the Award Goes to..." We are going to award our teacher's with $5.00 gift cards from various vendors of your choice. (Room Parents will send an email with your teacher's favorites. *For example: Target, Office Max, Starbucks, Cherry on Top, Chipotle, La Sirena Grill, Subway etc.)
